People travel to all corners of Ireland and come back with tales of large pieces of bog oak which are celebrated in their locality.

Piece of history

In Killererin, we have our own (not so little) piece of history with the magnificent piece of bog oak that is located in the townland of Cloonreddia. It stands rugged and proud in the vast expanse of the surrounding bog untroubled by visitors with the exception of the birds who use it to perch on from time to time.
