Church Light at Killererin

At Saturday’s meeting of Galway Co. Council, Mr. M. Mannion pressed for a light at the church in Killererin.

Mr. Sean Silke, Chief Assistant Co. Engineer, said there was no more merit for a light at this church than any other rural church in the county.

Mr. M. Kitt, T. D. seconded Mr. Mannion and when they both pressed again for the light, Mr. W. Burke said if Killererin got a light, he would ask again that Kilconly, that had been turned down, get a light.

Mr. P. Sirr said he would do the same concerning another place that had been turned down. Mr. C. I. O’Flynn, Co. Manager said, a light was often more a danger than a help in places like this. It was decided to put Barnaderg on the survey list for a waterworks scheme. Mr. Mannion had asked for this.
