Cardboard Box sent from post office in Barnaderg

This is a small sturdy cardboard box (8.5cm x 7.2cm x 3.5cm) with metal reinforced corners which was sent by registered post from Barnaderg Post Office to Frengley Bros Ltd,  Jewellers, 5 Crow St., Dublin.  The date of posting isn’t possible to read but it has a 4 pence George V stamp on it (upside down), and an accompanying sticker displaying:  ‘R Banaderg No. 47’ . So at least it must be over a hundred years old.  Between 1911 – 1922.

Frengley Brothers Jewellers were Watch and Clockmakers and Silversmiths. I remember an unusual clock made by Frengleys in Ryan’s Pub, Parkgate Street, Dublin  near the Criminal Courts of Justice/Phoenix Park/Heuston Station. We used to frequent this Pub for lunch when I worked for Don Bluth Animation in Parkgate Street 1986 – 1995! So I certainly kept an eye on this particular clock!
