Catherine Agnes Raftery

Catherine Agnes Raftery was born into a farming family from Omaunmore, (now Imanemore) Barnaderg on November 9th 1919. Her parents were John Raftery and Bridget Raftery nee Courtney. The family has since died out from that area.

Nursing Career

Catherine began her nursing career in the early 1940s and qualified on 10th June, 1942 when she was registered in the Uk & Ireland Registers 1898 to 1968. She began her career in Shrub Hill, Infirmary, Worcester which was affiliated to Worcester Royal Infirmary 1938 – 1942 by examinations.
