E.S.B. Switch-On at Barnaderg

Barnaderg, the first village connected with the Rural Electrification Scheme in Abbeyknockmoy area, had the current switched on last Thursday. Very Rev. P. Curran, Killererin, conducted special devotions in the parish church to mark the occasion. On Friday night the “switch-on” was celebrated at a social and dance in Comer’s Hall.

Work on the completion of the scheme in the Abbeyknockmoy district is being pressed forward, and it is hoped to have the “switch-on” ceremony before Christmas.
