Wedding of two Killererin people in New York on June 24th 1934

A prettily arranged wedding of more than usual interest in New York and Boston was that of Miss Mary E. Henley, the only daughter of Michael and Anne Henley, Danganbeg, County Galway, and Mr. John Burns, Imanebeg, Barnaderg, County Galway which took place on Sunday June 24th at the Church of the Annunciation, 1318 Convent Avenue.  The Rev. Fr. Costello performed the ceremony.

The Bridal party

The bride was dressed in a gown of white satin.  Her veil was of plain lace draped with orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of orchids and lilies of the valley and baby’s breath. Miss Mary Connolly, a cousin of the bride was maid of honour, in a dress of blue organdie, with hat and shoes to match. Mr. Thomas Mullins was best man. Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held at 128 Convent Avenue, which was attended by number of friends from New York and Boston. Mr. Burns and his wife left for Atlatic City where the honeymoon is being spent.
