Townlands of Killererin

Townlands are unique to Ireland and generally comprise of small divisions of land pre-dating the Norman Invasion. However some townland boundaries were later added by the Ordnance Survey. Most have names of Irish origin and date back to pre-Norman times. The total number of townlands in Killererin both inhabited and uninhabited is 63. In this section, is a summary of these townlands.

Please note records are detailed as printed on the census form, even though there are obvious anomalies in spelling and more than ten years in the difference in ages between the 1901 and 1911 census.

This is an opportunity for you: our parishioners, neighbours and diaspora to make your contribution. We welcome old photos, articles, or any memories you would like to share with us, which can be uploaded to this site and added to the history of the townland from which your ancestors came.

We look forward to hearing from you.
