Folklore Collection

Between 1937 and 1939, the Irish Folklore Commission supervised the collection of folklore from children in 5th and 6th classes in National Schools from the 26 counties of Ireland.  This is a truly remarkable collection and in all, in excess of 750,000 pages of local history and oral tradition was collected.  We will endeavour to upload and print all essays from the three schools in our hinterand - Barnaderg NS, Cahergal NS and Brierfield NS here on this website.
