Farm to Fork food festival in Athenry
Heritage of Food Village
Bernadette Forde
Rich Gastronomical Heritage of County Galway
Last weekend, at Teagasc in Athenry, a number of groups participated in the construction of a food village as part of the Teagasc Sheep Farm to Fork event. The exhibitors provided a taste of the rich gastronomical heritage of the county with a variety of displays from the different groups. There were also demonstrations in traditional crafts relating to food, including straw crafts and net mending etc.
The village itself was made possible by the voluntary work and goodwill of a number of groups.
