Sam’s arrival in Barnaderg

September 1998 when Sam Maguire arrived in Barnaderg.  Crowds arrived from near and far to meet their heroes.  The fires blazed and the music blared. which could be seen and heard for miles around.  The first to be greeted on stage were our three local players.  For the young, it was all a new experience.  For the no so young, it was to bring back memories from many years ago.

Celebrations

For children, it meant treats of crisps, chocolate and cake.  For adults, it was something stronger to celebrate the victory.  When all had finished, for players and management, it was back on to the coach and head for the next town which was Tuam for more excitement and celebrations.  For all that were there, they just hope it can all happen again.
