Killing the Pig

When my Grandad was small, every 6 months, they used to kill a pig.  They used to buy a 6 week old piglet or bonbh.  Then they would feed it and fatten it until it was six months old.  A local man, with expertise would kill the pig with a long knife.  My Grandad used to have the job of collecting the blood and they used to make black pudding with this.

There was no waste

When the pig died, they hung it up by the hind legs and used all of the insides.  They even used the ears.  There was no waste.

Making footballs

My grandad and his friends .used to make a football out of the bladder.
